OAO RZD has a patent strategy to 2030. The document was adopted "for the effective management of the exclusive rights of JSC" RZD "for inventions and other intellectual property for innovative developmentof JSC" RZD ", - stated in the company.

This document is required to implement the strategy of scientific and technological development of the company until 2015, large-scale introduction of resource-saving technologies and innovative products and nanotechnologies, the development of public-private partnership.

patent strategy of JSC "RZD" defines:
- a mechanism created by the use of the means of JSC "RZD" results of research and development and intellectual property belonging to the Railways in the innovation process;
- the main objectives and priorities of JSC "RZD" in the creation and legal protection of results of intellectual activity;
- participation and role of all parts of OAO RZD, departments, offices, research institutes involved in the creation of intellectual property in shaping the innovation system of JSC "RZD", as well as conditions of effective management of exclusive rights owned by OAO Railways.

strategy is based on international legal acts, normative legal acts of Russia, regulating relations in the field of intellectual property and innovation.

patent strategy will be implemented in phases. In the first phase (2010 - 2015 years) strategy should:

1.Obespechit creating a system of JSC "RZD" competitive high-tech products and developments.
2. To provide legal protection and the protection of established JSC "RZD" of intellectual activity.
3. Maintain and develop the patent-information management and patent support the creation of new technical means.
4. Provide accounting and inventory of intellectual activity, owned by OAO "RZD"
5. Ensure the identification of strategic resources of intellectual property with high commercial potential.
6. Ensure commercial use owned by OAO "RZD" results of intellectual activity.
7. To ensure the formation of the holding of JSC "RZD" mechanism for the commercialization and utilization of research and development and owned by OAO "RZD" Intellectual Property in the innovation process through coordination and collaboration among all stakeholders of innovation and structures involved in the creation of intellectual property.

The second phase of the patent strategy of OAO RZD (2016 -2030 years), it is necessary to ensure further development of innovative processes based on accelerated development of high-tech and resource-intensive products and services, the company reported.
