Rosstat: During the whole year 2009 has experienced a steady increase in consumer expectations of the population of Russia

Studies conducted by Rosstat in IV quarter of 2009 show a steady increase the level of consumer expectations of Russia"s population throughout the year, the report said agency.
consumer confidence index, which reflects the aggregate consumer expectations of the population, in IV quarter of 2009 compared to III quarter rose by 5% and amounted to -20%.
Raising index was accompanied by positive changes in all its components, but most notably increased values of the indices and expected changes have occurred in the economy, the report reads.
index of expected changes in the economic situation in Russia in the short term was -5%, higher than the level III quarter of 2009 by 5%. On the possible positive changes in the economy indicated 21% to 18% in III quarter of 2009. Has declined the number of respondents who indicated negative changes in the economy (25% versus 29% in III quarter). Index changes have taken place in Russia"s economy amounted to -31%, surpassing the level III quarter of 2009 by 11%.
The proportion of respondents expect an improvement of their financial situation over the next 12 months is 13% (in III quarter - 11%). The deterioration of its financial position predicts 21% of respondents against 23% in III quarter of 2009. As in the previous quarter, more than half of respondents (52%) believe that their financial situation over the next 12 months will not change.
Increased consumer confidence index as compared to III quarter of 2009 was observed in all age groups: young people aged 16-29 years - 9% of middle (30 to 49 years) and older (50 years old and over) age groups - 3% and 5% respectively.
Regular surveys of consumer behavior of the population in Russia Rosstat conducted quarterly since 1998, covering 5 thousand people aged 16 and over living in private households in all regions of Russia.
